After a very impressive performance over three days at Wellington College, Blake K has been awarded the Benson Scholarship for academic excellence.  Blake was placed in second position out of the fifty two pupils on the Wellington Academic Scholar’s list.    Mike Howard, Master of Scholars, says “We are all extremely proud of Blake and we offer him our warmest congratulations on such a superb achievement.”

The Benson Scholarship is named after Edward Benson, Wellington’s first headmaster when it opened in 1859, and he is also one of the founders of Cranleigh School (we have a painting of him in the Reading Room).  Edward Benson also came up with our School motto ‘Ex Cultu Robur’.
