On Bank Holiday Monday, 20 pairs of parents and children took to the Cranleigh school course to compete in the inaugural Adult and Child golf competition.

The format was foursomes, adult and child taking alternate shots over the 9 holes. The children took the lead by playing the odd numbered holes, while the parents looked to take on the more challenging tee shots on the even holes. The morning session was hotly contested. Jason and Billy, Jamie and Huxley looked to challenge with 40 points, but Chris and Monty walked off the course, taking the club house lead with 46 points.

As the 11am tee time rolled around, the score looked unbeatable. While the afternoon scoring reflected the harsher weather conditions, this didn’t stop Sam and Ollie coming in with 48 points, a truly impressive display of golf. The only prizes left to fight for were the nearest the pin. Jason  coaxing the ball narrowly closer than Jamie and Paul to take the prize on the 4th hole. Sadly, no children managed to hit the green on the 5th hole on the morning, though Emily managed to put the ball right text to the putting surface to take the prize.

An amazing morning had by all, thank you all for making it what it was.

Mr Reid
