During School Assembly on Friday, we were treated to a visit from former CPS pupils, Rosie Hope (U5th) and Coca Hall (L6th), plus Pippa Lock (U6th) who will be joining us as a gap student next year.

All three girls play for Cranleigh School’s 1st hockey team; having just won the U18 Indoor Hockey Nationals and been runners up in the Outdoor U18 Hockey Nationals, the girls were an inspiration to our budding young hockey players during their interview with Alison Jolly, Director of Sport.

We also discovered that Rosie, Coca and Pippa all play women’s hockey for East Grinstead, a Premier League club that Zoe Burrell (Form 2 Tutor) has also represented.

Rosie said winning the IAPS National Hockey final whilst here at the Prep School, along with the fantastic 7-18 coaching programme run by Richard Organ (Director of Hockey), have been huge highlights for her.

Coca explained how she does extra hockey training twice a week outside school, as you have to be very committed if you want to play at a high level.

Pippa, the eldest member of Cranleigh’s 1st team squad, but the youngest member of the GB Elite Development programme squad of c.30 players, said “it can very intense but it’s also very inspiring”.

Many thanks to Rosie, Coca and Pippa for giving up their time to inspire our pupils.  It will certainly give them some goals to aim for!
