During the last week Cranleigh Prep hosted our final two “friendly” swim fixtures both against Hurstpierpoint on home soil.

The first was an IAPS preliminary programme aimed at U10-U13’s separate girls’ and boys’ events, this was the last chance for the team to swim competitively against one of their fierce rivals before the finals in June. Alas due to injury and illness on the day not all our “big guns came out to play” however the finishes were close and it illustrated the tough competition they will face at the finals.

IAPS will publish the top 20 individual qualifiers who are through to the finals on 30th April this month.

The second fixture of the week focussed purely on the U8’s and U9’s boys’ and girls’ events, the programme included as many of the junior swim squad as possible for some this was their first taste of a competitive and noisy swimming environment. The results were very close and to the contrary on the day looking back through the score sheet Cranleigh Prep did actually win this event.

Well done to all who have taken part with the swimming training and competitions this year!
