Nothing develops teamwork and a sense of shared purpose quite like sport and games. Our unrivalled sports programme balances development with inclusion, so every child can develop their skills at a level where they feel comfortable.
For those with competitive ambition, there are ample opportunities to represent Cranleigh Prep in fixtures against local schools. We also field B, C, D E and F teams for certain fixtures to ensure later developers and younger pupils have the same opportunities as their more physically mature classmates.
Games
Children have an eclectic range of interests and abilities, so our sports provision is broad and balanced. In a normal year, games sessions incorporate football, hockey, rugby, cross country, netball and cricket, as well as fitness sessions, dance and Eton Fives, golf, horse riding, judo, sailing and climbing. Our top teams enter county, regional and national competitions in the major sports and we host everything from festival-style tournaments to county and regional finals. The majority of fixtures take place locally, but we regularly travel across the country for fixtures against other top sporting schools.
Facilities
We are fortunate enough to to have some of the best facilities in the country. Our idyllic spot in the Surrey countryside features a full-size artificial hockey pitch, 4 cricket squares, 3 tennis courts, 2 netball courts, 9 rugby/football pitches, tennis courts and a 5 a-side football pitch.
In addition to our own first rate provision for sports, we have exclusive daily use of Cranleigh School’s outstanding facilities. The Grounds staff maintain the facilities to the very highest standard and this, coupled with an enthusiastic and experienced teaching staff allows the children every opportunity to fulfil their potential on the field.
