Geography is a subject that is increasing in relevance to everyday life. We aim to capture the pupils’ imaginations with the variety of topics covered, and the continual need to update topics and review them as the world changes.

At each level, the pupils are encouraged to think for themselves and solve problems using information (especially on maps, graphs and diagrams), displayed in textbooks, periodicals, films, web-based computer programmes and the atlas. Presentation and neatness are vital in this subject and are stressed at all levels.

Core geographical skills are developed through the Lower School Humanities curriculum in Forms 1 and 2 and the Forms 3 and 4 Humanities course. These foundation years form the platform for more structured study of the subject in Forms 5 and 6, which covers secondary sources, data interpretation and fieldwork.
