Our musicians have enjoyed a particularly busy week. On Tuesday the Senior School Big Band entertained our younger pupils as part of the Lower School Concert Series. They played a variety of pieces from jazz standards to the theme tune from Austin Powers! The pupils absolutely loved the concert and were enthralled throughout. It was especially wonderful to see so many former CPS pupils in the Big Band, who started their musical journeys in the Prep School. Well done to Mr Eaglestone and the Big Band for such an inspiring concert!

The following day featured a joint Music 7-18 concert in the Cranleigh Arts Centre. The Lower School Choir started the concert with an energetic and engaging performance of ‘The Rhythm of Life’ which was the perfect start to the evening. Our pupils were then treated to various inspirational chamber music offerings from Senior School pupils. The CPS Chamber Choir sang towards the end of the concert and their polished performance of ‘Sing, Sing, Sing!’ was a highlight of the evening. This event was a brilliant showcase of music throughout the school.

With another two weeks before the Easter holidays we still have some big musical events to look forward to. The Merriman Concert on Friday 21st March will feature the CPS Chamber Choir alongside the Senior School Choirs, Cranleigh Choral Society and the professional musicians of the Merriman Orchestra.

Last but certainly not least, we are all very excited about the House Singing Competition with the theme of TAKE THAT! Rehearsals are in full swing for the competition on Thursday 27th March.
