Last week it was the U12 boys National qualifiers at Eton and It was Cranleigh’s  biggest ever entry with 10 pairs entered.

Isaac C / Quinn H reached the quarter-finals and Dominic S and Olly H went a step further reaching the semi-finals. Dominic and Olly had started well before having to retire with bruised hands.

However, by reaching the quarter-final stage both pairs have qualified for the Elite tournament which is on 10th March.

Congratulations to all who took part. They set very high standards of both play and sportsmanship and represented the school with distinction.

Fives is an English sport believed to derive from the same origins as many racquet sports. In fives, a ball is propelled against the walls of the court using gloved hands. The ledges and buttresses evident on an Eton fives court is due to the fact that the court is modelled on the walls of the chapel at Eton.
