The festive season is here and what better way to welcome it’s arrival than two trips to the theatre in one weekend!

On Friday night, the Upper School headed into the bright, sparkly lights of Guildford to see Aladdin at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

A traditional pantomime, the children were perplexed by Aladdin being played by a woman and the Dame being played by a man; enthralled by the music and dance; and entertained by the many silly songs and opportunities to shout, “He’s behind you!”  At the end of the show, we met up with OC (and pantomime dame) Peter Gordon, for a quick ‘hello’ and photo.  A great way to welcome Christmas.

Saturday saw the Theatre Club on the move again.  This time, it was off to Chichester with the Lower School (and siblings) to see the musical theatre production of Mr Popper’s Penguins.  This show had it all:  singing, dancing, audience participation, penguins and real snow! This was an uplifting, feel-good show left us dancing, and waddling, in the aisles.
