One evening last week, we welcomed Connie from Wild About Britain, who brought a selection of her British wildlife creatures to talk about and show to our Boarders.

Connie is the founder of Wild About Britain. From her background working in bird of prey education, wildlife rehabilitation and reptile conservation, she realised there was a desperate need to educate specifically about our often-overlooked British wildlife that she feels so passionately for.

Connie talked to our Boarders about British habitat and then showed some creatures she had brought along including a smooth snake, grass snake and toad.  She also had with her ‘Freddie’ a Tawny owl and ‘Bob’ a Eurasian kestrel.  The pupils were allowed to touch and hold the creatures and birds of prey, an experience that many of them hadn’t had before.

An educational and fun evening was had by all.

Many thanks to Connie and her animals for coming to Cranleigh Prep School.
