This week has seen the U11 and U13 girls regional Netball IAPS played at Cranleigh Senior School.
On Monday, the U11 girls headed over to the IAPS competition and for this they played ‘Bee Netball’ which is a five-a-side version of the traditional game. After winning their first two games, they narrowly lost the third, placing them third in their pool. Sadly, they didn’t make the cup competition due to goal difference but made it through to the plate where they lost to Westbourne House. They had lots to take away with them from the competition and will no doubt gain in strength and return in full force next year.
On Tuesday, the U13 girls were one of 14 teams to enter the regional IAPS regional qualifier. They got off to a great start and stormed their six box matches with convincing wins against some strong opposition. This meant they made it through to the Cup competition where the top three teams would make it through to the National finals. Here they won their first match and narrowly lost their next putting them in the 3rd/4th position overall play off. They rose to the challenge in this final game and defeated their opposition to achieve third place and qualification to the nationals!
Well done girls!
