We were delighted to hold our first joint Explorers with Wild About Britain yesterday. Children visited Cranleigh Prep School and the Chemistry department at Cranleigh School who showcased a variety of experiments.

Connie Smith, from Wild About Britain, introduced the children to her incredible British wildlife ambassadors including reptiles, amphibians and birds to ensure a unique and unforgettable educational wildlife experience.  They met Freddie the distinguished tawny owl and Bob the stunning little kestrel full of character with a bobbing head!  All the children handled snakes and toads as well as seeing other reptiles up close and at the end got to stroke the owl!

After a delicious supper in the Senior School dining hall, the children went onto discover the secrets of the science labs investigating the colours of fireworks and creating the colours of the rainbow with different PH.

It was wonderful to see future generations of Cranleighans experiencing a taste of life at the school and we hope our Explorers are proudly wearing their medals, after having explored some of the breadth of activities on offer here.

Some of the quotes received from our Explorers –

“I just wanted to pass on my thanks, our daughter really did have a wonderful time and it definitely reinforced her love of the school!”

“Our son said it was great fun! Animals and Bunsen burners- what’s not to like!”

“Our daughter came back very happy, chatting away about the sessions, sounds like they really enjoyed it!”

“Our daughter honestly had the best time and came out beaming saying how much she loved Cranleigh!”

Explorers’ events are taster sessions designed to give children who are registered at Cranleigh Prep the opportunity to experience one or two activities at Cranleigh prior to their Admissions Day.  This allows the children to see our space, meet our team and most importantly get to know other children who want to join Cranleigh too.  They are also valuable events for parents to socialise with each other as well as meet some key members of staff and ask any questions about the admissions process and life at school.

If you would like more information about future Explorers’ events please contact our Admissions Team – Email: admissions@cranprep.org or Telephone: 01483 542051.
