Many congratulation to the CPS Swimming Team for all their achievements at the IAPS finals last Saturday afternoon at the magnificent London Aquatic Centre.

The girls session started upbeat with the U13 Freestyle Team (Cecilia B, Lizzy K, Alexis H and Annabel L ) smashing their qualifying time and setting a new personal best of 1.04.93. The girls came 14th in their event.

The girls individual heats show cased one of our youngest team members “speed bomb” Hatty K who swam in the U10 25m freestyle race still nurturing a recent arm injury. Hattie came 7th in her semi-final heat then just missed a place in the finals. Manon G-J’s placed 8th in the U11 50m Breaststroke heat and then finished 5th in the finals with a new personal best time of 41.28.

Isla Rose A placed 5th in U12 50m Freestyle heat with a new personal best time of 31.15 and then held on to 5th position nationally in the final. Cecilia B came 18th in U13 50m Backstroke event. Lizzy K placed 6th in her semi-final heat and then dropped another 1.20 seconds to take the Bronze medal for the U13 50m Breaststroke event at a new record breaking time of 37.80!

Overall the CPS girls were ranked 22nd out of over 200 school teams who had entered. Well done to everyone on a fantastic day of competitive swimming and a special thank you to Mrs Beddison and Mrs Moore for volunteering their time as qualified officials.
