Congratulations to Mr Brooks and team who completed their virtual ‘Race the Thames’ challenge which finished on Monday.  Out of the 90 crews that took part they came first!!

Mr Brooks would like to say a huge thank you to all who sponsored the team, they raised a team total of £2,283 and the whole event raised £118,669 for various charities.

‘Race the Thames’ is the annual fundraising event run by London Youth Rowing (LYR). The money raised will be used to help support LYR’s work in London and Leeds. LYR’s programmes allow young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to take part in rowing, giving them the benefit of participating in the sport and allowing them to fulfil their potential.

We will also be supporting the School of Hard Knocks Charity, with 50% of the total funds raised going to their work. Working in London, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh, the charity currently employs a core team of 18 people; has two outstanding patrons in Invictus Games gold-medallist and world record holder Andy Grant and England stalwart Andy Gomarsall MBE; and helps over 750 adults and children each year.
