Pupils at Cranleigh Prep have been supporting the Cranleigh Rotary Charity initiative Romanian Children ‘Shoebox Appeal’, by donating boxes of children’s gifts.

The pupils have collected 58 gift wrapped shoeboxes which they have filled with gifts including toys, colouring books, pens, pencils, hats and scarves which will be given to children in Romania.  Each child selected an age group between 4-16 years, indicating whether the presents were for a girl or boy, then put this information on top of their beautifully wrapped boxes, with £2 taped on top (to help with the cost of transport and distribution).

The Romanian Children ‘Shoebox Appeal’ is a project that helps put a smile on the faces of disadvantaged, deprived and disabled children at Christmas time.  It is one of Cranleigh Preps annual charitable activities which encourages the pupils to help others less fortunate than themselves.

Thank you to all of you who supported this appeal.

Mrs Emma Lewis, Deputy Head Pastoral said “The shoe box appeal is great as it involves our children bringing joy to other children in the world”.
