Congratulations to Charlotte B (Form 6) and Poppy H (Form 5) who have just been offered a place in the UR7s National Rugby Sevens Academy for 2021/22 season.

The UR7s National Sevens Academy is the UK’s leading performance pathway for rugby 7s.  Each year they invite young, aspiring 7s players into the Academy and bring together some of the best players and coaches in the world to deliver a programme that encourages young players to explore their potential, enhance their skills and excel within a world-class environment.

Charlotte and Poppy both attended the Girls’ Trial Day where a group of aspiring, young female athletes came together to enjoy an afternoon of rugby sevens. It was noted that the enthusiasm, commitment and calibre on display was brilliant to observe and the players all conducted themselves incredibly well, for which they should be congratulated.

Laura Parry, rugby coach, says “Well done to both girls and we can’t wait to see how they progress along the pathway!”
