This year the Form 6 Leaver’s Trip saw us making the journey down to Swanage in Dorset. We stayed in a beautiful campsite with Corfe Castle as a backdrop. The trip to Swanage in 2021 will be memorable for lots of reasons.
Firstly, there were lots of amazing activities. The inflatable assault course was a refreshing break after the coach journey. Coasteering was a highlight with lots of water adventures. Sea kayaking in Swanage Harbour was really fun and totally hilarious. Bushcraft took place in a dappled glade, where we learnt to build fires, carve wood and shoot arrows.
Secondly, we all experienced living under canvas for a week. We learnt that tents aren’t soundproof, and the bird song is really loud and very early. We saw deer, horses and donkeys, although thankfully not in our tents. We experienced a range of seasons during the week, from soaring heat to torrential rain.
Finally, we spent a wonderful week with our friends. Outside of the school environment, we were able to spend time with existing friends as well as make new ones. Friendships were forged and memories made. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great week.
