Cranleigh Prep is awash with orange today for our first charity event this term, Mufti Day.  We asked pupils ‘to go orange’ and bring in £1 each to support the Lower School charity, Challengers.

Challengers provide a fun environment with a variety of activities for disabled children and young people across the South East.  They are currently running ‘Orange October’, encouraging schools, youth groups and as many people as possible to take part in their orange activities to raise awareness and fundraise for them.

As you can see from the wonderful photos, the pupils certainly rose to the challenge with lots of fabulous orange outfits.

Charity is an important part of school life at Cranleigh Prep. The children are always so keen to participate and run charity events for their chosen organisation.  Covid-19 has made things slightly challenging this year, but this has not deterred the School Council from coming up with creative events that we could run as a school.

This year, we have decided to continue to support the same charities as the last academic year.  These are:

Lower School: Challengers  https://disability-challengers.org/

Middle School: Make-a-Wish  https://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/

Upper School: Cardiac Risk in the Young  https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/

Emma Lewis, Deputy Head Pastoral, says ‘Due to COVID restrictions all monies collected today have gone into quarantine. However, the amount raised will be declared after the half term break. Thank you all for your generosity and support for this event’.
