Young author George K. was delighted to see his winning story in print in children’s newspaper, First News.

The publication ran a competition inviting young authors to complete a story started by famous children’s author, Cressida Cowell, who’s currently the Waterstone’s Children’s Laureate.

Cressida, who wrote the hugely popular How to Train Your Dragon  series, wrote the first part of a short story about a dragon and invited budding authors to write the next 250 words.

George’s story was chosen as the next instalment and was printed in full in this week’s paper. Well done George!

Each week Cressida will choose the best follow on story until the tale is complete.
