It’s been an action packed few weeks in the Fives world. Cranleigh Prep has had a bumper season so far with a number of notable successes.

In the U13 girls: Phoebe G and Baye H-D reached the semi-finals in the Nationals for the U13 girls.

Rory S and Oscar C reached the quarter-finals in the Nationals for the U13 boys

At the National Qualifiers, four pairs of U12 boys qualified for the National mains. Two pairs reached the semi-final where they were drawn to play each other. In a tense semi-final Humphrey B and Seb S narrowly defeated Ted C and Max W. Humphrey and Seb are due to play their final next Monday

After last year’s success, James M and Henry P had to play up a year against public school pupils for the U14 boys. In their qualifying competition they reached the final losing to a strong Ipswich pair. They have qualified a year early for the final stages which is a remarkable achievement

It was also lovely to see last year’s girls, Effie Syvret and Charlotte Barr, still playing. They reached the National final in the U14 girls losing to the same Highgate pair they lost to last year. Another remarkable achievement.

We still have more excitement to come:

On Monday 16th March – U12 National Finals at Eton as well as the Qualifiers final for Seb and Humphrey.

On Friday 20th March – Prep Schools Competition

The week commencing 23rd March – U14 National finals
