On Monday 18th June parents, pupils and staff enjoyed watching an Informal Dance display which took place in the Wyatt Hall.

Forms 1 and 3 showcased their curriculum dance pieces which they have spent the term working on. Form 1 delighted us with a dance to ‘Step In Time’ from Mary Poppins and Form 3 did an exciting dance number titled ‘Snow White’.  The children performed in their individual classes and danced with great enthusiasm and joy.

Alongside the curriculum dance we also had the pleasure of watching extra curricular dance classes take to the stage, including RAD and Cecchetti ballet, Grades 2 to 4 Modern and Grade 1 Tap.

Some children performed sequences from their graded class work which they have been working on, in preparation for their exams.  Others  showcased  pieces that had been especially choreographed by their teacher for the display.

Grade 3 Modern performed a group dance to ‘This Is Me’ and looked fabulous in their red sequin Greatest Showman costumes. ‘Consider Yourself‘, by Grade 1 Tappers, was very entertaining, with wonderful smiles and energy.

A big well done to our solo performers Sebastian S, Ella C and Jesse D. Jesse came over from the Senior School and was an inspiration to all the younger children watching.

Kimberley Vowles, Head of Dance, says “Many congratulations and thank you to all the children who performed so brilliantly on the stage. It’s a lovely opportunity to gain performance experience and showcase their hard work”.
