Flickering candles and ivy adorned a packed Chapel as the audience waited in eager anticipation for the Lower School Christmas Celebration to begin.

First came Christmas poems from Form 2; beautifully recited, the words, actions (and Christmas jumpers!) really helped to get us in the Christmas mood.

After a cheerful rendition of ‘Christmas has started’, the Form 2s made way for Form 1 to perform their ‘Midwife Crisis’.

Assured performances were given by all the pupils and their enjoyment of both the singing and acting was obvious. A special mention goes to Hannah-May F for her confident portrayal of the Midwife and George K for his role as the ‘Donkey’; “But no one EVER listens to a donkey!”  Thomas D’s solo as the Star brought a tear to many an eye.

The afternoon ended with a rousing chorus of ‘The Virgin Mary had a baby boy’ – which well and truly hailed the arrival of the Christmas Season.

Well done indeed to all the Lower School pupils and a huge thank you to the Drama, Music and Form staff for their hard work in preparing these excellent performances.
