Our Patron of Reading, Cliff McNish, returned to school last week to inspire, excite and entertain the Prep School children.

Having seen most of the children in large groups during his last visit, this time he focused on teaching children in smaller groups.  Form 1 were lucky enough to have Cliff read to them his fairy tale, A Winter Wolf, and then discuss alternative endings.  A group of Form 3 pupils interviewed him, whilst some Form 5 classes worked together on story development and how to engage the reader.  Finally, some of our Form 6 pupils enjoyed characterisation workshops and focused on how to write the perfect story, under exam conditions!

We look forward to welcoming Cliff back to Cranleigh over the coming months, as he will join our Upper School Easter Writing Holiday; present at the Awesome Book Awards; and return to work with the Prep School pupils in the Summer term.

Please take a look at the video link below, to get a glimpse into this inspirational day!
