William took up trampolining in December 2013 and quickly progressed through his badges, before taking up Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) which is a cross between trampolining and a gymnastics vault.

After a two day trip to the National Championships in Liverpool for his Birthday, William was totally inspired by all the top British trampoline athletes there and his trampolining career has gone from strength to strength.

In 2016, he joined ‘Gatwick Flyers Trampolining Club’, where he trained for a minimum of six hours per week, under the guidance of two Level 5 High Performance coaches. This has now been reduced to four hours per week, to fit in with his school schedule, plus fortnightly conditioning sessions and specialist DMT coaching.

Having come 4th in the county championships earlier this year, William was transferred up to the National Development Pathway (NDP) structure – a series of age-related routines for both trampolining and DMT.

Many congratulations to William, who was awarded the Gold Medal for his Trampolining NDP routine at the South East Regional Competition held in Gillingham, Kent at the weekend. There were over 300 competitors from 17 different clubs throughout the South East Region.  William has now qualified for the National semi-finals and will attempt to make it a double qualification by adding the DMT NDP1 routine at the next regionals in March. gold-medal
