The fourth of the House Music Competition finals was for pianists and percussion players. It was highly competitive, making it a hard task for Dr Ward (Head of Piano) and Mr Royall (Head of Contemporary Music) to judge.  The youngest children played the piano really beautifully and it was obvious from their superb performances that they had all been working really hard behind the scenes. Hannah S (Hearts) played in a technically assured way at an advanced level and was awarded the Junior prize.

In the Percussion category we had a strong group of drum kit players who demonstrated a whole raft of impressive techniques and solos, and this year’s winner was Charles P (Spades) . There was an incredibly strong selection of players in the Senior piano section, performing in a variety of styles. Edward T (Clubs) was awarded the prize in this category for his confident and very controlled performance.

It has been a joy to see everyone playing and singing so well all week; many children have inspired each other to work harder and continue performing at the highest possible levels.
