On Friday evening the boarders were treated to an uplifting and energetic African Drumming Workshop in the Wyatt Hall.  We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Lydia from Kenya who kept everyone riveted with her enthusiasm.  We all had an African drum and Lydia taught us the different names of the wide variety of instruments that she had brought, such as the agogo, bukuraba, djembe, bongo and sha shas.  She showed us various African rhythms, and then we learnt to play different parts that all came together in a really powerful way.  Lydia also taught us some African words to incorporate into our drumming, like WOZA WOZA!  The whole experience was marvellous and we do hope to do it again.
