Mrs Emma Unwin is Head of Lower School at the Prep School, a role which includes overall pastoral responsibility for the children in Forms 1 and 2. For the last 8 years, she has also enjoyed teaching English, Maths and Humanities to her Form 1 class. Prior to this, Mrs Unwin was Head of Maths and Year 6 at St Catherine’s Prep School in Bramley, Surrey.
A music graduate of the University of York, Mrs Unwin completed an MA in Baroque Performance as a classical singer before moving to Reading University for her Primary PGCE. Since then she has worked in various Prep Schools in Oxford and Canterbury, and has amassed over 20 years experience, teaching children from Reception to Year 6.
A keen musician, Mrs Unwin enjoys attending concerts and inspiring young singers by supporting the Prep School’s Lower School choir. In any spare time (a rarity!), she also likes walking, reading, fine dining and Pilates classes.
