Chris Stone

Mr Chris Stone is Director of Sport at the Prep School and teacher of Mathematics. He graduated from Brunel University, having studied Sport Science with Business, followed by a PGCE. Mr Stone has previously been a Head of PE at a state senior school, and prior to that taught Physical Education and Maths for 4 years at Scotch College, in Perth, Western Australia.

Mr Stone has always been heavily involved in sport. Having played a great deal of football and golf, it was only a lack of ability that stopped him from pursuing either as a career. Since returning from Australia, he has helped organise the Surrey Schools Golf Association tournaments and representative matches. Mr Stone’s ideal holiday is in Tignes, where he often frequents and is an avid snowboarder/skier. With a young family, his days revolve more around instilling their love of sport rather than improving his own, but regular exercise is still a huge factor in his daily routine.

Playing a pivotal role in shaping the sporting experiences of the pupils at Cranleigh continues to inspire Mr Stone to make this school a leading institution in sporting provision.
