Boarding Accommodation

Boarding Accommodation

We have two boarding houses – one for boys and one for girls. Both houses provide safe, comfortable and homely environments, where independence is supported, trust and camaraderie are actively promoted and children flourish.

The pastoral team, led by the Housemaster (boys) and Housemistress (girls) and their families, is made up of dedicated individuals with bags of energy and masses of experience. Houses have a Deputy Houseparent and a team of matrons, with one on duty in each house every evening. They take care of the children’s medical needs and are always ready to listen, offer advice and comfort, or share a joke.

The House Parents and their committed boarding staff look after the boys and girls from a practical and emotional perspective. The boarding staff, pupils and parents work closely together to ensure the boarding experience is as fulfilling as possible for every single child.

Mrs L Batchelor

Mrs Lisa Batchelor was appointed Housemistress for girls’ boarding in April 2010. She runs School House alongside her husband, Mr Toby Batchelor, who is Head of History and Master of Scholars. Mrs Batchelor is also a qualified Chartered Physiotherapist and outside the house shares her time between her physiotherapy work and her family.

School House is a girls’ house situated on the top two floors of the main School building. There are five dormitories with space for 31 boarders.

The dormitories have plenty of character and are always decorated by the girls with additional photos, posters and pictures to personalise each room.

Old House

Old House is a boys’ House of 34 boarders and is situated in an attractive, convenient location on the north side of Top Pitch at Cranleigh Prep School. It enjoys magnificent views over the field towards the cricket nets and Cranleigh School.
