On Tuesday 5th February, Pennthorpe held their inaugural Cross Country relay event for U9-U11. CPS took six teams, of four runners per team, and hopes were high after strong performances at both the Seaford and Wellington College Prep events. In a relay-style race, where all runners ran one lap each, consecutively for three laps, the lactic acid build up in the legs was evident in all athletes – a great lesson in the importance of quick recovery between intervals.

With seven competing schools, it was an incredible achievement for all of our teams to be placed in the top two schools in each of the six categories.

A huge thanks to Pennthorpe for organising such a well-oiled event and we look forward to entering again next year.
