Congratulations to the U12 girl’s Netball team who won all their group stage matches.

We are unbelievably proud of the girls and the grit and determination they showed, particularly in the later rounds. They were hardworking, consistent and unbeaten in the pool rounds but the knockout stages which followed were really impressive.

Coming back from 5 goals down at half time in a semi-final to draw 6-6 shows sheer resolve and resilience. Unfortunately, they lost the 2 mins extra time 1-2 (to the team that eventually won); so, having been in touching distance of the final, their gold medal chances were then out of reach. They were gracious in defeat and dug deep in the 3rd/4th play to secure the bronze.

Most importantly of all, they showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the day, they supported each other on and off the court and had fun. They have worked tirelessly as a squad this term and they come to every training session and match with a smile and the right attitude to work hard and play hard – it’s for all this (not just the medal) that I think they deserve a pat on the back.
