The end of the Michaelmas term always means that the most exciting of House competitions takes place. The House Challenge involves teams of Form 5 and 6 pupils who take part in a quiz competition modelled on ‘University Challenge.’ In front of a whole school audience, it is quite a daunting prospect to have your general knowledge challenged with quick-fire buzzer questions. The teams all performed well; cooperating on bonus questions and having their general knowledge tested in the most stressful circumstances.
The initial rounds saw Hearts achieve 255 points to Diamonds’ 120. The next heat saw Clubs defeat Spades achieving 440 points to Spades’ 60. This meant that Clubs and Hearts met in the Final on the last day of term. In this final competition Clubs achieved a record score in this competition; 460 points to Hearts’ 85.
Well done to all the contestants and to the audience who were in awe of the excellent general knowledge exhibited.
