Charlotte B and Imogen R, Form 6, played their first competitive U13 rugby match of the season with the Old Guildfordians Rugby Club. Due to the current Covid restrictions, they played the new RFU touch game called ‘ready for rugby’ rather than full contact.

The girls played a triangular match v the Old Reigatians A & B teams, successfully winning both matches 7-1 and 6-3. Charlotte and Imogen scored 9 of the total tries between them.

Charlotte has been playing for the Old Guildfordians since the age of five and has been awarded ‘players’ player of the year’ for the last four consecutive years.  She won this award three times whilst she was the only girl in the team, then again last year which was her first time playing with girls.  Imogen has joined the club more recently.

Their team coach at Old Guildfordians is England rugby player, Leanne Riley.  She is also Mrs Parry’s team mate at Harlequins women.  Mrs Parry, rugby coach and Form Tutor here at CPS, went to watch the girls play and was very impressed by the standard.  She says ‘it was so great to see the girls out there, playing with such passion, determination and skill’.
