Although life is currently very different to previous years, it is great to see all our pupils enjoying team sports again. The grounds are looking amazing and the weather has been fantastic, so there has been a wonderful atmosphere out on the sports pitches.

Games sessions are taking place in year group bubbles, involving lots of training and skills practice so we’re ready to go once fixtures are back on!  In the meantime, external fixtures are being replaced with internal match days on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting this weekend.  Although still within year groups, pupils will be divided in to mixed ability teams, playing a league system of matches against one another. There will also be House matches.

Girls in Forms 1, 2 and 3 are playing netball as their main sport, with a session of hockey once a week. Miss Houghton, Head of Netball, has commented on some super shooting skills from the U10s! In Forms 4, 5 and 6 the girls are enjoying hockey training, with one session of netball each week.

Football is currently the main sport for all the boys and we’ll introduce a rugby session each week as the term progresses.

The Lower School pupils are all loving being back in the swimming pool and swim squad trials are taking place for Forms 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The final selection list will be available from the 28th September.

A huge thank you to our sports coaches for making it possible for all year groups to take part in such a safe, fun, enjoyable and full sports programme.
