Forms 1 and 2 enjoyed an exciting afternoon when Tom Palmer came to visit. An acclaimed children’s author, Tom has published 49 books in the last 12 years, predominantly stories about sport and history.

He inspired the pupils with his stories about being an author; the process of writing a book, and how to develop ideas.  He also challenged them with a quiz, asking a myriad of questions on a range of topics including sport, current affairs, showbiz and geography.

The afternoon culminated in a “Reading Rugby Challenge” in honour of the Rugby World Cup. Here boys and girls pitted their knowledge and balls skills against each other, to win a trophy – well done, Seb!

Thank you to Tom Palmer for making the trip from Yorkshire to be with us and for inspiring the children.
