Form 2 scientists enjoyed glorious weather for their school trip to the Lookout Centre in Bracknell. The centre offers the children the opportunity for scientific exploration and they were able to work independently or in groups on problem solving activities.
When they weren’t trying to launch a rocket or watch a hot air balloon take off, the children participated in a ‘bugs and beasties’ workshop, where they consolidated learning in the classroom.
They also had the opportunity to go on a beastie=collecting walk, where they collected woodland creatures in nets and placed them carefully in magnified pots to observe the types of creatures in that environment. They even saw a live ant colony with more than 200,000 ants in it!
A fantastic day was had by all.
