On Friday, our U12 and U13 netball teams took part in the IAPS Netball Qualifiers held at Cranleigh School.

The U13 won all seven games in their section very convincingly and qualified in 1st place for the semi final, where they met Feltonfleet.

The team had another excellent game, winning 13-7 and so went on to play Westbourne House in the final.

Having narrowly beaten them on Wednesday, the girls knew this would be a tough match.  However, once again they played extremely well as a team, and won 12-6.

They won the gold medal and also qualified for the IAPS National Finals which are being held at Epsom on 22nd March.

Sally McLaughlin, U13 girls’ coach, says “The U13 girls were simply awesome.  I took a squad of 9 players: Eva M, Lauren C, Camilla B, Charlotte B (Captain), Effie S, Millie J, Sasha P, Megan T and Grace H.  All nine played in every match! They played extremely hard all day, scoring brilliantly and turning the ball over with great consistency in all areas of the court.  It was a great achievement by them all”.

The U12s also played some fantastic netball and came home with the bronze medal, narrowly missing qualification for the National Finals by just one place.  Sian Broad, the U12 team coach, says “The girls played brilliantly.  It was a whole squad effort and one of their best performances to date.  They thoroughly deserved their medals”.
