On Monday 21st January, Form 4 girls and boys were invited to join our boarders for a Taster Night. The boys and girls normally take part in joint activities, from Roller Discos and Graffiti Art Workshops to Climbing and Archery, to name a few. However, by popular request, the boys and the girls had their own special evenings.

In School House, the girls welcomed Anna Texier, a home consultant from The Body Shop. Anna spoke to the girls about The Body Shop and its history of campaigning for fair trade and against animal testing.

She also taught them how the skin works, explaining how hormones, stress, the sun and dehydration can damage it. The girls then tried out some of the makeup and lip gloss, whilst being given tips on how to achieve a natural look. Finally they were shown how to cleanse, tone and moisturise their skin.

Meanwhile, in Old House, the boys enjoyed the cold, crisp winter’s evening outside with a huge moon. The boys kept warm around a campfire and enjoyed a BBQ dinner, followed by adventurous games in the Copse. They then toasted marshmallows whilst drinking hot chocolate.

The children all retired to bed having had lots of fun, with big smiles on their faces and we hope to see them boarding again in the future.
