Many congratulations to Caitlyn, Emily and Saffy, currently in Form 5, who scooped up a bronze medal in Barcelona, whilst representing the Guildford Hockey Club, last weekend.

This is the eight time the GHC have participated in the annual youth hockey tournament in Barcelona, officially known as the Torneo Internacional de la Inmaculada ‘Marga Monegal’.

It is the tournament’s 32nd year, and it attracts the top clubs in Spain, plus many others across Europe, from Italy and Germany to Holland and Belgium, and even Russia.  It was an intense weekend of play, starting at 9am on Friday 7th December through to 2.30pm on Sunday 9th December.

More than 80 teams participated across  four age groups of boys and girls and the Polo Club welcomed c.1000 players this year.  Guildford Hockey Club took three teams, two boys’ teams and one girls’ team which included Caitlyn, Emily and Saffy.

Our Prep School girls worked very hard and proudly came home with a Bronze medal for their club which is a fantastic result.
