The Chamber Choir and the Lower School Choir both treated the local community to some Christmas carols yesterday.

The Chamber Choir, accompanied by Catherine Beddison, started the morning sharing their love of singing with residents at Cedar Court. Performing unaccompanied traditional carols, they were enthusiastically thanked and encouraged to visit again!

Then they sang in Cranleigh village and delighted all those who were lucky enough to be passing through Sainsbury’s and the Co-op. One lady said it had ‘made her day’ to hear such beautiful singing and another gentleman cheerfully joined in, remembering his joy of having been a chorister as a boy. Many people gave generous donations, which we will be giving to the Chernobyl Children’s Project, our school Christmas charity this year.

Meanwhile, the Lower School Choir visited The Old Rectory Nursing Home in Ewhurst to spread some Christmas cheer! The residents were thrilled to be entertained by the younger singers, and they were very grateful for the visit.

The choir sang beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone. Thanks to Ruth Williams, Marie Ward and Emma Unwin for accompanying the Lower School pupils. We look forward to returning next year!
