As well as being a fun day for all of our pupils, World Book Day was also an opportunity to give back to the community.

Hundreds of second hand books were brought into school to be given to the charity, Delight.  On Monday, Mrs Schutte drove them to Delight’s depot in Redhill, from where they will be catalogued, sorted and then distributed to hundreds of children who would not otherwise have access to their own books.

Kathryn, from Delight, said “We are delighted to receive such a huge amount of good quality children’s books.  We are so grateful.  These books will make such a difference to the children we work with.”

Following donations from pupils, we have also been able to donate £237 to Delight, to help support their valuable work.  To find out more about what they do, visit the website http://delightcharity.org.uk/ .
