Having already been crowned U11 Surrey Champion for his 100m freestyle earlier this year, Jamie went on to win a hat trick of gold medals at the lastest Surrey Swimming Championships, held at the London Aquatic Centre.  He is now Surrey Champion for 50m freestyle too, after winning his individual race.  Jamie then went on to win both the 50m freestyle relay and the 50m medley relay with his team of four from the Guildford City Swimming Club.

Jamie has been swimming with Guildford City Swimming Club since he was six, and he’s currently in the County Squad.  This involves training at Surrey Sports Park for seven hours per week so it is great to see all his hard work paying dividends.

A particular mention also to Kyarra, who swims for Woking Swimming Club and has swum competitively since age nine. She trains for six hours every week and has just achieved an overall ranking of 8th in Surrey based on four categories: sprints, 100m, 200m (all three are across all strokes) and the 200m individual medley (one race of 50m of each stroke).

Although, she didn’t win a medal this year, Kyarra was the only girl in her U12 age group to get into all four sprint finals which is a fantastic achievement.  We wish her luck in the Regional championships in May and look forward to hearing how both Kyarra and Jamie progress through the year.
