at Dulwich Prep School in Kent.

With approximately 440 schools nationwide involved, there was a significant increase in the number of competitors this year, including the likes of Millfield.  This event is in its third year now and the standard of competitors and equipment was definitely higher.

The girls all supported each other.  The older girls cheered on Baye as she finished her swim and went through transition, before going out onto the cycle and run course.

The Form 6 girls set off a little later. They all swam well before tackling the challenging cycle course. The cycle course was tough, on quite long grass with hilly sections and a strong wind.

Unfortunately Sophie had a problem with her bike after the first of four laps and had to retire from the race. However, she bravely decided to take part in the run, despite this disappointment. Sasha and Tabitha were visibly tired after completing the cycle course but they kept going, and finished a very technical, rough run course with good times.

The event was very well organised, with a lovely atmosphere.  The times are listed below:

NC Year 5 (Form 3) – Short Course

Baye H-D: 23.32 in 51st place (out of 64)

NC Year 6 (Form 4) – Long Course, 200m swim, 4km bike and 1800m run)

Sasha: 28.56 in 7th place (out of 54)

Tabitha: 29.28 in 9th place

Sophie: DNF
