On Friday night, a brave and intrepid group of Lower School pupils joined us for our annual Harry Potter Book Night.  Cranleigh Prep School joined with schools and Harry Potter fans throughout the country (and indeed the world) to celebrate J.K. Rowling’s wonderful series – and pass the magic on to young readers who haven’t yet discovered these unforgettable books.

For the night, the Dance Studio was transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the ‘Sorting Hat’ determined whether pupils belonged to Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

Then, with the help of Mrs & Miss McCormack, Mrs Unwin, Mrs Sharpe and Mrs Schutte, the children were given ‘lessons’ on wizardry, wand-making, spells, puzzles, Potter-inspired designs and potions. It was a magical night celebrating wizardy, literature and the power of imagination.
