We bid farewell to George MacDonald (or GMac as he is known by everyone) today, having done a fantastic job since joining us in September. Both staff and pupils will be sorry to see him go.

George represented both the Prep and Senior School’s 1st football and rugby teams, and won the National Sevens at Rosslyn Park last year with the Cranleigh School 1st team.

He has been a superb addition to the team and has made a significant impact as both a football and ruby coach across the ages he has worked with This is particularly evident from the U13A rugby team’s achievements this season. They are well-drilled, experimental and play the game with a smile on their face. This is all down to him and he will leave a big gap in the sporting life of the School.

On a more personal level, it has been excellent to have George around. His good humour and hard work have impressed everyone and it has been such a pleasure to have an old boy of the school showing the children just what they can become with a bit of hard work.

Without sounding patronising to him, we are all so proud of who and what he has become and wish him the very best for his travels in the Southern Hemisphere.
