County talent spotters have had a field day at CPS, with 15 pupils being selected to play hockey for Surrey.

After gaining the IAPS South Regional hockey title earlier this term, the U13 girls went on to win the bronze medal at the IAPS National Hockey Championships.

Jess M has been selected to play for the U14 Surrey squad; Olivia B, Matilda H, Siena K, Imogen P, Boau-Lilly S & Francesca S will represent the U13 squad and current Year 7 pupils, Georgie L and Olivia M, will also play in the U13 squad a year up.

Cranleigh Prep’s boys’ hockey team is already looking strong, before the season has even started! However, Sean H (Year 8) represented the Cranleigh School U16 team at the Indoor South Regional semi-finals this weekend, narrowly failing to qualify for the nationals.

Finn T has been selected to play for the Surrey U14s with fellow Year 8 boys Sean H, Tom N and Will P, plus Freddie F and Josh T (Year 7) included in the county U13 squad.

Alison Jolly, Director of Sport at Cranleigh Prep, said “We are extremely proud of all 15 of our pupils.  It is encouraging to see the huge advantages of the 7-18 sport initiatives we share with Cranleigh School, enabling both schools to benefit from the combined staffing, ideas and resources to achieve excellence.”
