November at Millfield in Somerset.
Topping their group, with four wins out of four, Cranleigh took on Hawthorns in the quarter final round, emerging with a 5-0 win which saw them progress to the semis. Next up were Eagle House, who had proved a worthy adversary earlier in the term, during regular fixtures. The Cranleigh girls rose to the occasion and came away with a 1-0 win, meaning they had qualified for both the final and the National Finals too.
In the final Cranleigh met Edgeborough for the second time that day (the first encounter, in the group stages, had resulted in a 3-0 win for Cranleigh) and the team played some beautiful passing hockey, with every member of the squad contributing to the thoroughly deserved 4-0 win.
A summary of the day’s matches is as follows: played 7, won 7, goals for 21, goals against 0 (in fact the Cranleigh team did not even concede a single penalty corner).
We wish the girls the best of luck at the National Finals on 15th November.
