A musical feast was offered last week in Cranleigh School Chapel. The concert began with varied and accomplished duets and ensembles and then led to a collaborative piece involving singers and instrumentalists from Form 4, Form 6 and Cranleigh School. Revisiting the musical highlights of the musical and cultural exchange with Cranleigh School Abu Dhabi back in April, the musicians recreated excerpts of ‘Oliver!’ with full chorus, soloists and band. The audience was delighted by the professionalism and energy of the performance and both Bethany Porter and Toby Chesser won standing ovations for their solos as Nancy and Fagin respectively. It was a wonderful opportunity for our younger singers to share and aspire to the expertise of the older pupils. A special mention is deserved for the hard work of Ben M, performing the title role of Oliver.
