anniversary this year and looked stunning in the late September sunshine. Pupils were busily occupied searching for historical evidence on a detective trail around the Base and Clock Courts and through the Palace Kitchens and Tudor State rooms. We also attended a workshop entitled ‘Upstairs, Downstairs’ in which we learned about life as a palace servant compared to that of the members’ of Henry VIII’s Court. We also re-enacted the’ Great Chain of Being’ in Henry’s Great Watching Chamber. It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip that did much to enhance the pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the Tudor topic that they are studying in their Humanities lessons this half of term.
