The Summer Concert was a celebration of ensemble music making that showcased the hard work and talent at every age and stage within the school. We heard rousing performances from the Concert Band, String Orchestra and Training Choir alongside plenty of enthusiasm from the Training Percussion Group and the Training Band. Entertaining audience participation was a feature of the Chapel Choir song, and the Percussion Group was certainly the loudest piece of the afternoon! It was lovely to hear the intimate chamber music textures of the Recorder Ensemble and the Guitar Group and the combined forces of the Form 3 Harmony Group singing alongside the Chamber Choir brought a tear to many eyes. One Form 6 boy in the audience was quoted as saying ‘Well, that was the most enjoyable concert yet!’ which is high praise indeed. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
